parkerbender
Okay, I'm trying an install with leo4all on a brand new machine. Intel DG35ECB mobo, Core 2 Q6600, gigabyte 8800gt 256mb, sata hdd, ide dvd-rom, usb keyboard, 4gb ram. I boot and get "System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found" blinking at me when it boots the cd... I can f8 into the boot menu, but when i pick verbose, it just gives me this error. I've tried booting to a single core, and somebody suggested putting a password to start, so i tried that, neither worked... Ideas/suggestions/criticism? Thanks!!! -Parker, hackintosh noob. Are you using a USB keyboard AND mouse?......you should be.......mixing USB and PS/2 is just as bad as using PS/2 keyboard and mouse......the tend to cause problems on many systems....... Check that the MD5 checksum of your DVD .iso file is correct and/or burn another DVD at a SLOW speed ≤ x4.......then boot with "cpus=1 maxmem=2048 -v" after F8 into DVD boot: prompt......then make a full note of error messages on the boot screen....... parkerbender
okay. here's what i got: Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 4094MB memory VESA v3.0 14MB (NVIDIA) Use keys to select the startup volume. hd(255,0) Ethernet PXE Client Press Enter to start up Darwin/x86 with no options, or you can: Type -v and press Enter to start up with diagnostic messages Type ? and press Enter to learn about advanced startup options boot: {Then i typed:} boot: cpus=1 maxmem=2048 -v {and... the only thing i get is: } (4 blank lines... ... ...) System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found Now, i have read someplaces that you need a sata dvd drive... i live in a small town, and don't really have access to any stores that have sata dvd drives... I could order on eif i had to... Is that requirement true? I am using a lite-on shw-1635s IDE dvd-rewritable drive. Is this message dvd-read error-related, or is it a hardware configuration problem... usually? Thanks again, for any input!!! -Parker edit: oh, and i am using both usb keys and mouse. thanks! SChief
Maybe downloading the Chameleon JMicron IDE DVD ppf patch for Leo4Allv3 final patch, and patching the file with PPF-O-Matic V3 would work..? The patch is special made for this problem. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119649-comapplebootplist-problem/#findComment-847416 Share on other sites
parkerbender
i'll try to find them, and keep you guys updated! Thanks Again!!! (i have a band coming on the 16th.. and i'm tired of recording on my macbook :S ) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119649-comapplebootplist-problem/#findComment-847421 Share on other sites
SChief
Just search on "Chameleon JMicron IDE DVD ppf patch for Leo4Allv3 final patch" with Google. The first hit is fine. For PPF-O-Matic you can just search on "PPF-O-Matic" with Google. The second hit worked for me. You need to patch the install, and then burn it on the DVD. Good luck with the band. parkerbender
my god, it's working! well... at least it's installing. Is that video card going to give me hell? i'm running (or trying to run) 2 screens... I didn't patch any kext stuff on the disk (not really sure how)... also, might the onboard firewire work, or am i gona need a card/what is a 1394 card that consistantly works? THANKS AGAIN!!!! -Parker edit: okay, it said it installed successfully, but on restart, it won't start without the disk, it tells me there is no valid boot disk. When booting from the disk, with f8, it finds the install... Does a person have to always start from disk (it's taking me about 12 minutes, literally...)? edit again: woah, okay, so, it's actually going into the install again... i'm gonna try to reformat and install again... any ideas? Thanks! -Parker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119649-comapplebootplist-problem/#findComment-847549 Share on other sites

parkerbender
yep, it'll boot the install dvd every time, and it installs normal, everything seems great, then, on restart, it doesn't see anything... says the hdd is not bootable, instert boot disk. When i go into the install dvd again, it shows 2.3 gb used on the drive, like the installation is there, for some reason the computer just doesn't see it... Ideas? Thanks again, so much! -Parker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119649-comapplebootplist-problem/#findComment-848561 Share on other sites
Edray
Did you change your bios settings to boot up from the hard disk? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119649-comapplebootplist-problem/#findComment-848648 Share on other sites
parkerbender
yep, my bios is looking at my hdd first, it just won't find anything... if i limit cores to 1 and memory to 2048, i can get into the installer every time. could it possibly be that i have two bad hdd's? oh, btw, i started another thread, with a full crash screen, in case anybody wants to try to decipher that... :S thanks! -Parker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/119649-comapplebootplist-problem/#findComment-848680 Share on other sites
annunaki
I don't know if this will help, but I have had the same problem before. One method that worked for me...and it seems silly...is when your system is starting, hit ESC or whatever it says to enter the boot options. Select boot from hard drive and hit enter when the countdown timer starts. I had to do this whole procedure REALLY FAST. There is supposed to be another method that may work and that is to enable AHCI in your BIOS. Maybe this helps.
