Ok, so I am having to get a laptop now for college which is rapidly approaching. With my family I get a large discount on dells so i am going to get a computer from them (even though I would love to buy a REAL Mac). I am aware that no install on any system is guaranteed, but for someone who wants to store everything on this, doing school work, a few photos, my music, books, a solid build, which Dell Laptop is most likely to be compatable with OS X (preferably Kalyway 10.5.2).

And I am sure I will get a "Look at the compatability lists", and I have but I know many people don't always post on there.

My only rule is to not have a computer priced over $1500

There's a Sticky post right at the top of this forum that says, "This forum is not the place for buying advices / compatibility questions". I hope your college offers a freshman course in remedial English comprehension. :censored2:

FWIW, I've owned 5 Dells over the years and they've gotten so bad I wouldn't buy another one if you paid me. For that matter I wouldn't buy another Mac, either, but that's a story for a different day.

I hope too you're gonna get better in writting in english cause I don't understand some things.. Anyway, Dell is not the best and take a look, they're recalled some models with nVidia gpu under the hood. MSI Wind, Asus Tablet and HP DVxxxxx Pavillon series would be a preferred alternative. And be willing to change your Wifi cause' Intel based Wifi cards won't works for now in OS X. So you buy one on ebay for 10$ (Dell Mini PCI 1390) and bang, recognize as Airport Extreme :(

Yah sorry about that. I don't really think when I am posting at 3:00 in the morning ;)

But good to know the Intel network cards won't work, I was really depending on that.

And yah I know Dells are sort of crappy, I have had to replace the MoBo on it 3 times due to faulty capacitors, but they are cheap :D
