glocklee
Update:Solved.many thanks to everyone! Hardware: Thinkpad T61 T9300@2.5Ghz x2 4G Ram PM965 chipset Installation: boot into iATKOS dvd smoothly. three partitions exist,no logical partitions. vista installed on first partition erased second one as destination part(HFS Journal) Packges: Main Installation files. -ALL Stock Files(Kernel 9.4.0) -ALL Darwin Boot Loader with EFI emulation some drivers(VGA - NVIDIA - ALL) when installation finished and computer reboots, the darwin boot loader v5.0 appeared, start counting down. then the problem comes... it didn't boot into darwin but get stuck there, prompts out something like this. (hd1,1)WINDOWS NT (hd1,2)MacintoshHD (hd1,3).... and then asked me to select one it's okay to go back to windows boot loader and boot windows but when i pressed enter on the second selection it just repeats to do so. i think it's something wrong with loader config and partition config and i tuned something(re-activate vista.manually edit the partition flag to AF and so on) but with no luck.then i've no idea what's gone wrong.. any suggestion will be appreciated! forgot one thing: my harddisk is formatted with a MBR table. glocklee
all right!! finally solved. my strange solution: prepare a Tiger install disk and erase a new HFS partition for use then install leopard on it do not use the diskutil in iATKOS v4. now everything goes fine,my dual boot is implemented by activating Leopard partition and i can boot vista through that. thanks everyone! glocklee
hi mobilezone: selecting both stock kernel and speedstep will cause a system panic when cpu freq boosts. if it works fine just with stock files, don't install speedstep (otherwise install hacked kernel and speedstep) and try the partition tool in tiger..it really works Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118924-boot-get-stuck-at-darwin-boot-loader-with-iatkos-v4-t61/#findComment-843405 Share on other sites
