ALC888 on Shuttle XPS Audio

Hello!

 

I know that a lot of people search the boards, find the solution but don't confirm it, so I'm doing that now for what I'm using.

 

BTW: I think the Shuttle Case/Mobo combo are the easiest Hackintoshes I've made so far. They are really easy to service too.

 

Shuttle XPS 945G Boards

SD30G2 (and probably others)

 

Shuttle XPS G33 Series Boards

SG33G5, SG33G5 PRO

 

Shuttle XPS P35 Series Boards

SP35P1, SP35P2, SP35P2 PRO

 

All of these work with the ALC888.text patch with the HDA writer. In 10.5.2, 10.5.3, 10.5.4 as well. I have done all of these personally with just the basics: Kalyway > Kalyway 10.5.3 patch > Apple SW Update 10.5.4 > Patch HDA.

 

It will NOT show up in System Profiler. You need to look in Sound Preferences pane to turn on the sound. I made many reinstalls wondering what was going on because of System Profiler.

 

I'm sure many people have looked at System Profiler thinking stuff wasn't working. I must have wasted a day trying to get it to work till I actually went to the Sound pane.
