Okay guys, so I bought my laptop (a currently stock Dell Inspiron 1501) just over a year ago, and it came pre-installed with Vista, and naturally I hated it. The drivers for the sound card were absolutely terrible right out of the box, and it was amazingly CPU and RAM intensive. So I started looking for a new OS to meet my needs, and for the last year I've been running Ubuntu. After a while though I just started getting a little bored with it, and decided to install XP on here. Only a few days later I managed to already catch a virus, and now I'm looking to install OSX for the first time. I have significant experience with linux distros now, but not much with unix based operating systems as I understand the Mac OSX to be.

So here is my question...

I'm going to post my system specs here, and I would absolutely LOVE it if I could get a few replies recommending which version to install. I'm leaning towards the Tiger rather than Leopard, but I honestly have no idea as to which version I should go for. So for example, a great response would be telling me to get version 10.4.8 for AMD/Intel SSE2 by Jas with a 64-bit install, and a somewhat detailed and understandable explanation of why you would recommend this. Thats just one version I've been looking, but I'm sure you all have much better insight into my situation than I do. So enough talking, here's my specs, please tell me what you think! Thanks!
