andyx86
My OnBoard AC97 has only mono sound for output in kalyway 10.5.2 but the input, the MIC, is working perfectly..... I also have a PCI cmi8738, witch I installed but the driver for 10.5.2 has only output, and as far as I kould find, there is no driver with input support for this card on 10.5.2... My situation is: I Have installed the CMI8738 and now I want to have the AC97 for inputing my Mic. How can I do this if in "Utilities\Audio MIDI Setup" the AC97 does not appear any more? Only my PCI card is listed now... Thanx and I hope someone can help me. Andy P.S. If I remove my PCI CMI8738, the onboard AC97 Returns, it appears in MIDI Setup Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118135-how-to-use-2-sound-cards-one-for-input-one-for-outout/ Share on other sites

andyx86
thanks for quick response, I tried Audio switcher, but it does not work! iMac is not really a solution for me, not becouse It wouldent be nice, but because I am from Romania, in my country it costs 60 $ (second-hand) and ebay or others don't ship in my country!!! (LoL? I don't) But I hope for some kind of tweak in a file to make it show up, is there such a way? else, I will buy a new sound card, one that is fully compatible... much cheaper here! You don't say what your motherboard is but you could try installing the same driver that was used for the AC97 again and hope they will work together. Ok you are probably going to be looking for the AC97 driver and you may want to take a look at the thread below by pcwiz to see if his hardware detection/driver installer may work for your hardware. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=116638&hl= Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118135-how-to-use-2-sound-cards-one-for-input-one-for-outout/#findComment-837934 Share on other sites
