MichaelBuckle
Wondering if you guys can help me. I've decided to upgrade from JAS 10.4.5 to JAS 10.4.7 (or maybe 8 - Currently downloaidng). My wifi works out of the box with JAS 10.4.5. However 10.4.7 does not, AirPort does not reaconise a card. I'm wondering what KEXT's or files do i need to copy from 10.4.5 to 10.4.7/8 for my Wifi to work? - Or from the 10.4.5 disc. I've tried copying a few files from System/Library/Extensions - but still dosent work!. I'm afriad i dont know what type of Wifi card it is (Inbuilt to my VAIO - VGN-FS315E). Any ideas? Cheers, Mike Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118129-sony-vaio-wifi-1047-problems/ Share on other sites

Guest BuildSmart
No one? .. Mike The fact that you can't even say what chipset it uses makes it hard for anyone to help you. What I suggest is that you look at your old installation and see what wireless kext's are installed and copy them (intelligently, if you use the finder to look/copy the files you will be seen as an idiot not worth helping). Guest BuildSmart
Looking closer at the 10.4.5 Installers it seems that your wifi works out of the box because someone already modified the kexts with your cards ID's. In the newer OS you will have to add the ID's yourself.
