liquidsnaske
This is a compliation of various ways I have found whilst searching the forums for ways to sort my problem out: Please note that this problem can be caused by any number of things and its only by trial and error that you will find a solution. These are NOT in any particualr order, so you may want to try the easier ones first: 1) Remove all extra devices (USB memory, usb headphones etc) 2) Unplug any extra IDE/SATA devices not necessairy (DVD drive and spare hard drives) 3) Unplug any extra PCI devices 4) if you are using ps/2 keyboard and mouse, use USB, and if USB use PS/2 5) Turn off any overclocking / hyperthreading or any extra bios features not necessairy 6) Run SATA devices in IDE controller mode 7) Do a complete power down and then reboot 8) Boot with the following commands: -X -V -S -F cpuid=1 9) Follow the help given here: www.iclarifed.com/entry/index.php?enid1119 10) Download a different version of OSX86 11) If the error is at the installer, try using a USB dvd drive 12) If you are using a SATA hard drive, use a IDE instead Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118093-fixing-still-waiting-for-root-device-error/ Share on other sites
