TomCos
Hi, i have a 680i evga motherboard which would be the start of all this chaos. After trying for a very long time to get past the "still waiting for root device" problem, i finally got a ide dvd drive and was able to install leopard. After getting everything working except the on board ethernet, i decided to reinstall 10.5.2 kalyway. I originally used forcedeth, which would detect the ethernet device but say there was nothing plugged into it. This time for the install, i used the forcedeth on the kalyway disk + all the other devices i needed, but again, no ethernet. Willing to try to reinstall forcedeth one last time, except with a different version, i tried one last thing.....the 10.5.3 comboupdate from kalyway. After the install...everything went nuts! and leopard became unusable. I had no choice but to reinstall...but wait..as i put the same disk i had used many times into the same disk drive..it would not boot to the disk! Putting it into my sata drives brought me back to my "Still waiting for root device" problem, which meant to me the disk was good. I was able to get another ide drive and after putting the disk in...its goes through darwin and eventually start erroring nonstop! so now im here with a leopard i cant boot to, a ide drive that will read no disks, and a kalyway 10.5.2 disk that errors out....someone wanna take a stab at the whole situation? ...there will be cake for the winner :censored2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/118070-everything-went-berserk-and-now-i-cant-reinstall/ Share on other sites
