Hi,

First post and sadly it's not just to say hello!

Installed OSX 10.5.1 using the Kalyway DVD.

Went through most of the dual boot tutorial here.

Before I did anything with Gparted my laptop happily booted to both XP and OSX, giving the Darwin bootloader option on start up.

I went ahead with the last (Gparted) part of the tutorial, assuming it did something worthwhile.

I loaded Gparted and changed the flag to boot for my XP partition.

Problem is, the tutorial mentions modifying boot.ini to include the chain0 line of code, and there's no sign of boot.ini anywhere (system files aren't hidden), only a .backup file in windows\something or other.

Since I'd rather not screw things up further, is there any way I can get back to the point before changing flags with Gparted?

I tried going into Gparted again and unticking the option, but that leads to a boot error.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Problem solved.

Changed the boot option to the OSX partition and the darwin bootloader magically reappeared : )
