FInder not starting on boot

Hi all. Have an Acer Aspire 4710. Installed Leo4Allv3 10.5.1 using vanilla and the ICH7 options. Everything (besides ethernet) is working well. Upgraded 10.5.3 via Jas upgrade pkg, then 10.5.4 via Apple update. Still all was well. Yesterday out of the blue (no new kext, or program installs within last week) Finder stopped loading. When i boot, I get my desktop screen and the dock and the top menu bar, but Finder hasn't loaded and I have nothing on my desktop until I click it in my dock, then it shows desktop items and hard drives. Any suggestions on how to fix? I was thinking to put finder in startup items, but cant find it.

I have repaired permissions using disk utility yet did not solve issue.
