My mom saw it on sale and wanted to buy it for me as a birthday/graduation gift.

Specs are as follows:

· Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor1 T5750 (2.00GHz, 667MHz, 2MB L2 cache)

*Note, after a little looking it appears the one on sale is an "Intel Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2390"

· Genuine Microsoft® Windows Vista® Home Premium (32-bit) SP1

· 2048MB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2-1024MB modules)

· 160GB 5400rpm Serial ATA hard drive

· Chassis w/ Integrated Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 with up to 384MB of Dynamic Video Memory and Intel® GM965 Chipset

· 15.4" WXGA Ultrabright TFT Active Matrix (1280 x 800 max. resolution)

· Integrated Intel® 3945 802.11a/b/g wireless networking

· Integrated 1.3 Megapixel Web Cam

· 8x Multi-Format Dual Layer DVDRW with DVD-RAM featuring Labelflash™ Technology

I checked the HCL and the only thing I would have trouble with is the intel 3945 card, but a dell 1490 would probably replace that pretty quickly. Vista would also be wiped I would want to dual boot Leopard and TinyXP. Hopefully the X3100 would work nicely and give me full QE/CI. The webcam isnt too important, but it would be a cool perk. This would not be my first hackintosh, but it would be my first time probably messing around with kexts. Could anyone give me a little advice or information about this? \

I would get a macbook, but I just dont have the credit or money saved for it, so its pretty much out of the question.

Thanks.

It doesn't look bad, but, honestly, if you are paying $800, then I'd bite the bullet and get the MacBook for $200 more with your student discount. It will pay off in the end if you want a Mac. :)

If you can't; then, this looks like a nice computer.

Good Luck Nick. :(
