Hi, I installed OSX 10.5.4 (iATKos) the other day on my 2nd SATA drive successfully. Problem was I could not boot into it (after many hours with grub, it would continuesly fail to get past the apple loading screen).

So I figured I would install it on my main SATA drive alongside windows and linux and remove it from the other hard drive.

So I had to do some work witht he partitions, and set my SATA 1 drive up like this

Primary Windows-NTFS (50gb)

Primary Linux-ubuntu (30gb)

Logical Data partition (340gb)

Blank partition set aside for OSX (50gb) ---- Temporarly formated to fat32

So I load up the OSX installer and bring up the disk utility.. I click on partition 4, and choose erase and select Mac filesystem - journaled. But it doesnt work. When it finishes that it quickly says a message failed to mount.

I cant get this to work at all! I go into linuz and try with GParted and the HFS/HFS+ options are greyed out.

Any thing else I could try?

Here is the computer specs and info:

Asus Commando motherboard

intel Q6600 - quad core CPU

-2gb memory

2 120gb IDE drives

2 500 gb SATA drives (1 listed above, the other one is just single partition NTFS)

Any help would be great, thanks!

edit:

I am also thinking of just removing the linux partition completely.. If that will help at all (If I do, what do I use for a boot loader.. since grub would be gone)

Ok, well I finally got it installed (had to use diskpart to create the partition)

But it still wouldnt boot... I guess I will try a kalway install and hope this one works.

Though unfourtantly my Vista partition has corrupted as well.

So since I am going to start from scratch, Should I install OSX as my first Primary bootable OS, Then install Windows later?
