hello everyone. I got a macbook 3,1 (santa rosa) it only has 1gb of ram. and leopard seems to choke on 1gb. I looked on "websights" for a howto. however all i ever saw was OSX86. the question is Can these versions of OSX Tiger work on my macbook?

my guess would be that you could if you used BootCamp, but not normally.

OSX86 is designed NOT to work on real Macs (trust me, I've tried), but BootCamp makes the installed OS think its not on a Mac, so mabe OSX86 would work in BootCamp.

Whats the harm in giving it a try?

I've downloaded two versions of Tiger from the normal places, a DVD and a CD version for Groot Koos's iMac G3 just a few days ago, so you should be able to get them, I eventually booted it from a USB HDD with the OS copied onto it! Groot Koos now runs 10.4.11 on it, with a smile!!
