chris888
Hi there guys and girls, I would be very appriciative if someone could help me with the problem i have here. I am a noob at this osx86 game so please go slow :-) The Background I have an HP dv 2000 laptop with a 160g hard drive. The drive is partitioned and orriginaly had vista on the main partition and system recovery on the second. I have downloaded and installed kalyway 10.5.2. on the primary partition ( I did not care to keep vista) the instalation went fine. The Problem The machine willl only boot if i leave the kalyway dvd in the drive, if I dont do this I get an HFS+ Partition error. Things I have tried 1: On boot up with the kalyway dvd I have pressed f8 and then -s in the console I then type Fdisk -e/dev/disk0s1 hit return I then type Flag2 and hit return but get the error command not found 2: I have booted osx with the dvd in the drive, navigated to the com.osx.boot.plist and edited it to read <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>rd=disk0s1</string> The above two things I have tried have not worked, I have searched for more solutions to the problem but have not found any. Is there no program that I can just run in osx that can fix the issue? what can I try? Thank you very much for your help Chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117592-hfs-partition-error-iv-searched/ Share on other sites
mrbonkers
boot without -s then go to terminal type this: fdisk -e /dev/rdiskX flag Y update write quit where X is the disk and Y is the partition os x is installed dont think you need this: <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>rd=disk0s1</string> Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117592-hfs-partition-error-iv-searched/#findComment-833008 Share on other sites
