hey all, kalyway 10.5.2 installed easily on my x40. audio works, ethernet works, wifi works with driver for intel extreme 2200bg (ixi2200), and hopefully someday someone can do a little developing on a driver to improve the intel 855 graphics! Anyway, two minuses that i hope someone can shed some light on. everything runs fine and quite fast with the laptop connected to the mains. you can unplug after boot and it's all good but if you boot on battery power the os becomes unuseable. very slow and unresponsive. sometime won't boot at all. i have tried installing with and without power management bundle. in kalways notes it says not to install power bundle for sse2. didn't make any difference other than with the power bundle installed i got the battery meter.

the other issues is usb devices are only detected if you boot with them plugged in. if you try to put a usb stick in once you are in the os it doesn't recognize it. any thoughts? cheers people.

Howdy. I have the same issue and config and have been wrangling with it for a week. Did you ever get this resolved?

UPDATE: Fixed this. Change the powerstep settings in the Power tab in the bios to Automatic for both battery and AC and it should fix it.

Sorry to be such a newb, but is there a installation guide somewhere for OSx86 on X40? I upped the memory to the max, don't need a dual boot- using a spare oem drive to run an occasional Mac application.

Thanks for the help!
