exponent
I've got a Dell Dimension E521 (AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3600+). My network adapter is a Broadcom 440x 10/100 integrated controller. Previously, this has worked without needing to install network drivers via Leo4All. However, this doesn't seem to be the case this time around. I've successfully dual booted with Win Vista / 10.5 but the last remaining issue seems to be getting the ethernet to work. I have the feeling that I just need to install a different kext, but I'm unsure which one I need to pull and where to put it. Any help would be greatly appreciated =) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117138-network-issue-broadcom-using-l4a-w-dell-dimension-e521/ Share on other sites

exponent
After following the directions of that thread and rebooting, it killed my installation. However, I managed to fix the networking issue. Here is how I did it: 1.) I reinstalled using Leo4All V3. 2.) In the options, I deselected "time machine fix" (I'm running AMD and there seems to be an issue with it) 3.) I installed all optional network drivers. The computer did not hang as it had before at the "Do you own another mac?" screen. Once 10.5 had loaded, an error was displayed (file authorization.. I think). I accepted and restarted. When I opened Safari, the problem internet worked fine. Oddly, I think the issue had more to do with the time machine fix than anything else.
