Hi everbody in there...

I've successfully installed Mac Os x 10.4.5 into the second partition of my Asus A2S notebook (10.4.4/5 Myz*r patched)... installer was fine, but every time I boot in normal mode, perhaps due to a wrong loaded video kext, the screen goes totally black, and system apparently hangs (even if the hdd works for a while). If I delete all the ati kext and I boot in normal mode or if I boot in safe mode (-x at darwin prompt) everything works fine (vesa 2.0 mode), but I have a desktop which has "double the lenght", so if I drag the mouse from left to right the pointer reappears from the left 2 times, this problem doesn't show during install, so I think that during install Mac OS loads the right kext.

My notebook has an ATI m10 (Ati mobility radeon 9600 64mb vram), which, it is said, is supported since mac os 10.4.3.

Can you find a workaround for this? Please help me, I'd like to have full accelerated video!

Best regards,

tomnic

What does the Display Preference pane shows?

In safe mode, when I go to System profiler, Graphics/Displays, I see 2 entries:

The first entry

-----------------------------------------------------

Display, VGA-Compatible Controller PCI

Bus PCI, Vram (total) 128 Mb

Vendor ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: (0x4e50)

Revision ID: 0x0000

Kernel Extension Info: No kext Loaded

Display:

Resolution: 1024 x 768

Depth: 32 bit color

Core Image: Not supported

Main display: yes

Mirror: Off

Online: yes

Quartz Extreme: Not supported

The second entry

---------------------------------------

Display, VGA-Compatible Controller PCI

Bus: PCI

Slot: AGP

Vram (total) 128 Mb

Vendor ATI (0x1002)

Device ID: (0x4e50)

Revision ID: 0x0000

Kernel Extension Info: No kext Loaded

Display:

Resolution: 1024 x 768

Depth: 32 bit color

Core Image: Not supported

Mirror: Off

Online: yes

Quartz Extreme: Not supported

Update: in the Display Preferences I can turn on mirroring... the "extended desktop" effect stops showing but my pointer leave its traces everywhere, painfull to see... which ati kext should I load? It looks like my display uses itself as an extended view... I'm a bit confused please help me!
