complication
It's an Intel based, R60 laptop, and using Everest I have a "ThinkPad 802.11a/b/g, 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter". What driver should I use, and how do I install it? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116678-what-wireless-driver-do-i-use/ Share on other sites

mattiL
You have to identify the wifi chipset to start with, Atheros, Intel .. If you still run windows, check in the device manager for details. BigPimpin
Yes, but that doesn't answer mattiL's question. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116678-what-wireless-driver-do-i-use/#findComment-826847 Share on other sites

mattiL
Boot from a Linux LiveCD and run "lspci -vv" in a terminal window, this generates a lot of info. If you already have OS X installed there is someone who compiled lspci for it too. complication
I'll do a search for it, hopefully I can find it. In the meantime, I'm surprised that Everest and Belarc each post similar information and nothing more. So...Mac seems a bit boring. How's linux? Groot Koos
So just because I don't know what I'm doing I'm going to attack other posters and just because I can't get my Wireless card working, I too are going to switch to a different OS, like Linux where it is much easier to get things up and running! Groot Koos edit: In two minutes: Intel Pro/Wireless 3945abg chipset however, or Atheros AR5212 wireless card, or X60 carried Intel 3945ABG wireless network card. arquimatias
try finding your laptop specs on http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/homeLenovo.do, selecting the exact model you have (check via everest the mainboard model too). yupidudidu
I also have R60. Using Intel 3945abg; 100% confirm. Since the driver remains "unsolved", try to buy another compatible wireless card. USB wireless perhaps. I already bought Encore Electronics USB Wireless using Realtek RTL8187B. Unfortunately, at first, it works very well. After 2 days, I found that my USB device can't connect to any available networks. I don't know why this happen. I thought that something is not right with the software that I downloaded at Realtek's website. Can somebody assist me?
