Hi everybody. I've been using the OSx86 wiki to try to install leopard on my laptop, and it's just being...difficult. I thought somebody here might be able to give me some advice.

When I boot using my dvd, I get one of two errors, I can't tell what causes it to choose one over the other however.

1) The system file 'com.apple.Boot.plist' cannot be found.

2) Still waiting for root device

Now, the second one seems a fairly common problem, that I might be able to fix myself, if I could get past the first error message. I know the simpleist answer is 'is the file actually there? if not, add one', but I can't access the second partiton inside my leopard boot disk to check (as far as I know.) I have both windows & ubuntu installed on my other harddrive, so prehaps there is a program I am unaware of that would let me edit that.

If anybody else has had a similar experience or knows the solution, please let me know.

System specs:

HP dv9000z

AMD Turion 64 bit processor, 1.6Ghz

1 GB Kingston Ram

80 GB Hiatachi SATA drive

Quanta motherboard

nVidia chipset

nVidia 7600 GeForce Go GFX Card

If any other specs are needed I can provide, I'm not sure whats useful.

Aww. Well, kinda sad nobody responded, but I was able to successfully install! :(.

The com.apple.Boot.plist error can be fixed by letting the computer boot, allowing the 'No Operating System Found' error to appear, and then putting in the disk and continuing with the boot option '-x -v'

As for 'Still waiting for root device', I put my harddrive into the second SATA dive slot, and that fixed it.

I'm not sure why either fix worked, but they did.

I'm now getting another error, that seems rather...mean. Like Steve Jobs put it there to laugh at me, lol. I get a 'No Operating System Found', even though OS X was sucessfully installed. Anybody know cause\fix?
