nerd0795 Posted July 19, 2008 Share Posted July 19, 2008 I'm planning on buying a new computer soon but the $2000 price tag on the mac book pro is kinda high. and I would like to build my own machine later, while still use mac os x. The question is... if I get caught doing it in canada what is the fine, what will happen? I'm only 14 and I live in a rural communitiy. I will not sell my hackintosh (unless I reformat) I just signed up to the forum and I'm wondering what is the punishment before I do it... Sorry if this post does not belong in the thread I had a hard time deciding which one. Also please don't say ask your court around you or something like that. P.S I will buy a legit copy Thank you. Apple says that the legit copy is merely an upgrade because every Mac comes with OSX, so how much is the full license version? adrock42 Posted July 19, 2008 Share Posted July 19, 2008 It's in the apple v. psystar court proceedings. In any case, I don't think there is much precedent for fining people who mis-use the licence. In the past when big companies are found using one license for many computers, or illegally downloaded software, they were given a grace period to fix the problem. Also there have been some cases where people have been singled out and sued by the Music Conglomerate for illegally downloading music from lime wire or napster.
