alright, simple question...

I am putting another hdd into my case(sata of course) so that in addition to my osx86(kalyway 10.5.1) i can have vista 64x for just gaming. I have a small ide drive in there that has grub on it for booting and to use linux as a utility. I just want to know what I need to do and what could go wrong by installing another sata drive and putting vista on it and booting to both windows and osx on and off.

what do i do with ahci mode?

could this cause my osx86 to stop working?

thanks guys! p_up.gifp_middot.gif

i am in no way an expert, but i can tell you some things.

since Leopard only boots with ahci mode ON, that's how you'll have to boot it.

However, Vista isn't compatible with AHCI mode, unless you do a registry tweak (just google for it).

If the registry tweak doesn't work, everytime you want to boot into Vista, you'll have to turn off AHCI mode and stick to Native IDE mode.

other than that, i don't really know since i've also been having problems booting with two physical drives, one IDE, the other SATA.
