dastrom
I have 10.4.5 installed natively from the mizar dvd. Sound doesn't work and the Marvell Yukon Ethernet built-in ethernet does not work. I have a RTL8169s pci card installed which works but I must go th the network preference pane each time I boot to get it to work. As soon as the preference pane opens it says new port detected and will activate it. The problem is that I now have more than 30 port connections. It just adds another port configuration each time I boot and open the network pane. I have dsl and location is set at automatic. It uses DHCP and I have tried manual DHCP but it still does the same thing. Doesn't automatically recognize the port/card on reboot. I cannot delete the port configurations either it just unchecks them and moves them down the list. Help!!!! Anyone have any ideas?? dastrom ASUS P5RD1-V P4 2.8 1gb Ram 6200TC PCIe RTL8169s PCI OSx86 10.4.5, Ubuntu Dapper, Windows XP Pro triple boot with Grub Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11639-rtl8169-works-but-loses-connection-on-reboot/ Share on other sites
dastrom
Just an update - I tried the same setup on a Biostar U-8668-D and the RTL-8169s card works well and is automatically recognized. Must be that board or something in the bios of that board. dastrom Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11639-rtl8169-works-but-loses-connection-on-reboot/#findComment-73990 Share on other sites
