Bonjour broken after 10.5.3/4 update

I have been running 10.5.2 with 9.2 sleepkernel and EFI for a few months now. Yesterday I used the kalyway 10.5.3 ComboUpdate followed by a delta 10.5.4 update and 9.4 modbin kernel, and other than having to rollback my ATI kexts, I faced no problems.

 

But now none of the computers on the network show up in the Finder.

 

I can still connect to windows shares and linux-based samba shares by clicking on "Connect to Server" in the Finder and entering smb://computername/

 

I have checked the network and sharing settings, and tried disabling and re-enabling it, creating a new location, rolling back my NetworkingFamily.kext, repairing disk permissions, restarting my router, and generally poking and prodding, but to no avail.

 

Any suggestions anyone?

Ok, clearly I'm the kind that tech support people hate. What else did you change? Nothing, honest!

 

I had turned the firewall onto "Allow only essential services".

 

Now I set it back to "Allow all incoming connections" and bonjour works again.

 

I thought it was odd that nobody else seemed to have the same problem :-)
