Kyl3KK
Yay! I finally got it to work, sound too!!! I'm using Kalyway. I do, however have 3 main problems. One is xvids and dvds don't play, it makes everything crash. I suspect this has to do with video drivers, but I installed them, so I don't know why that's happening. (nvidia geforce 6800 gt 256MB) Second one is, can I use the apple update to update to 10.5.4 without breaking anything? If not, how? My third one is probably the easiest. Is there anyway I can remove the write protect on my windows partition so I can download stuff to it while I'm in OS X? Sorry for the newb questions, but please help me. RollingMac
Usually updating from Apple for the 10.5.4 is safe if you have a 10.5.3. But this is only for the system, for some other drivers like graphic cards you may need to re-install them. Good luck. To fix the video problems, google "perian" and install that video driver package. That should solve problem number one. For problem 2, i highly recommend going to 10.5.3 first - use kalyway (more options) or JaS (easier). Be sure to update the currently booted system. If you use kalyway, be sure to follow the directions to the letter.... As for windows, use the Public folder (in Users/Public on your windows partition) to copy files to and they should be available in either mac or windows mode. To be safe, you might want to use the same user name and password for both partitions. Best of luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/116056-success-1052-and-xp/#findComment-822037 Share on other sites
CaptEvo
How do you change boot order? (Using Darwin bootloader) I tried rd=disk0s2 command in com.apple.Boot but that didn't help, it still boot Darwin as primary.
