Cannot Update iATKOS

Aloha

 

I have iATKOS 2.0i with Kalyway's vanilla kernel on a Vostro 1500. I have been trying to update from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 and then to 10.5.4 or directly to 10.5.4.

 

I have tried using the Kalyway 10.5.3 ComboUpdate following this howto http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=108216 and the README instructions. The result is a "still waiting for root devices" error. When I reboot with -f I get the gray apple screen with the rotating graphic which eventually gives way to the small "anti" graphic (circle with line through it) on the apple.

 

I have also tried using the dmg from the apple site following these howtos:

Same results as the Kalyway update.

 

Any help or ideas is appreciated.
