So i stop getting kernel panics at shutdown? Johnny V Posted August 4, 2008 Share Posted August 4, 2008 The only time I have a kernel panic at shutdown is while there are Firewire drives running. Do you have Firewire drives running? At this time, to get around the kernel panic, is to remove the Firewire icons from the desktop before shutdown.
