deiz
Hi all, I downloaded Kalyway so I can try Mac OS X Leopard before going out to blow £1000 on the apple hardware. I have a few question that may have been answered before, but I don't think so... So it downloaded the folder which in it has the "ISO", the "readme" file and an "ADD_KTEXT_TO_DVD" which has a read me itself as well as a "command" file and a folder called "natit.text" and so on. Now I know a DVD won't boot unless it's an image (i.e the image cannot be inside the DVD with other folder), it has to be the root thing on the DVD right (correct me if i am wrong). So how does the other stuff that came downloaded work with the ISO if I cannot insert them in to the ISO. Do I (or can I) place them on a USB drive to select later? Also, I have Linux on a smaller partition which I will keep, I can partition my Windows drive to fat16 (or is it fat32) and then try to install Mac OSx Leopard onto the new partition. My understanding is that Mac OSx doesn't install or even recognise an NTFS partition to install to. Whats this EFI I hear of about? I have read all sorts of tutorials, and questions and answers on this forum with all sort of data. But it does get confusing after a while. So I disable the dual core in the bios, add some stuff after install and then re-enable dual core? Oh, it's o Dell XPS M1710 (I have read the thread too). Thanks guys (or gals), Deian Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115261-burn-iso-or-folder-and-bootpartition-q/ Share on other sites
