charliehorse
Hi i have just bought a toshiba equium P200D-139 laptop. I have tried to install osx on this laptop but it keeps getting stuck when booting the dvd at the same place every time. I see a error message saying Local APIC version not 0x14 as expected and i also see Extension "com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.aple.kpi components; use only one style. the last line ends with IOAPIC: Version 0x21 Vectors 0:23 The laptop then just sits there and never gets any further. I have tried using OSX86 10.5.2 (Leo4All v3) and Kalyway OSX86 v10.5.2 and both get stuck at the same point. Cpuz shows Chipset ATI RS690/RS690M Southbridge SB600 Does anyone know how i can fix this. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/115181-help-installing-osx86-1052/ Share on other sites
Mac Ninja
Go into your BIOS and disable multi-core support, and Intel SpeedStep. Try again. If you are still stuck on the IOAPIC: Version 0x21 Vectors 0:23 error, go back into BIOS and change your SATA mode to AHCI. (You will not be able to boot windows while in AHCI mode, so change it back to get into windows.) This should take care of the vectors error. Do this and post the last couple lines now. I had the com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin error trying to install Kalyway 10.5.2, so I used iAtkos instead, it worked fine. charliehorse
Toshiba have really cut down the bios on this laptop and there is hardly anything that can be changed. I have checked and there is no option to change the sata settings to AHCI in the bios. Chris Murphy
I've just installed OSX on an Equium P200D today, and it's not plain sailing. You will need an external USB DVD drive connected and a USB device such as a memory stick. . First go into the bios and disable legacy usb support. Then boot up from the install dvd (I use Leo4all). When the install hangs plug in the memory stick and it will continue until the install stops with the message "still waiting for root device" (or similar). Swap the install dvd from the internal to the external drive and install should continue. However, ewhen you've finished the hard disk won't boot, so you need to start the install process again. Once the installer window opens, go into the Utility menu and select Terminal. Then you need to copy the ATA kexts from the install CD cp -pr /System/Library/Extensions/*ATA* /Volumes/MacHD/System/LIbrary/Extensions/. (replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume) Then set the permissions: chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA* chmod -R 755 /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA (again replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume) Finally remove the kext caches rm -rf /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions.* Then reboot, use the startup option -v (you'll also need the USB memory stick again) When I'd done all this I got it to boot, but the internal DVD drive and wireless were not found and the display is just a generic one. I then foolishly decided to download software updates, which hung after about 15%, and I ended up with a "broken" laptop so am currently re-installing.
