maximilian298453 Posted July 11, 2008 Share Posted July 11, 2008 Despite being on the 10.5.2 compatibility list as working OOB, the netgear ga311 I just received isn't seen by my kalyway 10.5.2 install. It works fine on my windows XP dual boot side, and I queried for the properties info: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8169&SUBSYS_311A1385&REV_10\4&CF81C54&0&08F0 I notice that the compatibility list doesn't mention a version number for the card they used. Does anyone have suggestions for what to try next? This is the fourth LAN card I've tried in my system (not counting the integrated one which I knew was incompatible), so I'm kinda hoping I can make this one work. Thanks a lot. maximilian298453 Posted July 11, 2008 Author Share Posted July 11, 2008 I decided to just ignore the OOB claim and try the usual things and the IONetworkingFamily.kext did the trick! Does anyone have any idea how this may have differed from the install on the wiki? They worked out of the box and I had to install a kext, but I don't want to just overwrite their entry in the wiki. I'm new to wikis as it is. Thanks for any advice. Now that this card is finally working I can stop swapping my monitor back and forth from my old mac. Thank goodness!
