Hey everyone,

First time to post here - I've been careful to search but I have not been able to find answers to my question. I have also googled and I can only get partial answers that are not very clear.

Basically I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 Laptop with the following spec -

Components

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 Processor (2.2GHz,800MHz,4MB L2 cache)

MEMORY- 4096MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x2048]

HARD DRIVE - 160GB (7200RPM) SATA Hard Drive

GRAPHICS CARD - nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8400M GS with 128MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory

OPTICAL DRIVE - Fixed Internal 8X DVD /-RW Drive including Software

BLUETOOTH - Dell™ Wireless 355 Bluetooth 2.0 Module

WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY - Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-Card

I was looking for some keywords :)

I'm also wondering what are the main issues I should expect installing on a such a system.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone here that has successfully installed Mac OSX86 Leopard on Dell Inspiron 1520 (with all updates).

Thanks,

iRock :)

  • 1 year later...

i installed iATKOS v7 on inspiron 1520 T8300

wireless,sound,bluetooth works well

i couldnt be sure which vga drive to select so i need to research about it.

if you use iATKOS v7, change ACPI to ATA from bios(you will have to turn off flash cacht), virtualation enable, and when you booted from iATKOS v7 dvd:

press F8 and type : cpu=1 -v so installer will start.and select drivers and other stuffs for your laptop

for wireless : Broadcom 4xxx

for wired : Broadcom 4xxx(probably works i selected this one but didn't try yet)

don't change sound selection use default becouse it worked for me. and your laptop is almost same with mine
