thefighter Posted March 9, 2006 Share Posted March 9, 2006 My friend has an Dell Dimension 3000, and wishes to install Mac. He has a, and I quote from Display Properties "Dell E173FP on Intel® 82865G Graphics Controller". I thought the install DVD (10.4.4 DVD with pre-patched 10.4.5) would work flawlessly, but we hit a major graphics problem. The apple screen with the logo appears with the circle timer thing, then it goes a darker grey and continues to be like this throughout the set up, its all grey. How/Can this be fixed? With a kext file, or by changing a setting (BIOS setting maybe?) Any help would be greatly appriciated, thanks! thefighter Posted March 9, 2006 Author Share Posted March 9, 2006 Nevermind, we have it working, we just changed in the BIOS the Graphics card Buffer to 8mb from 1mb.
