use the pacifist to open the "10.5.4 combo update.pkg", and don't select the kernel and the system.kext(from system/extensions/)

Resurrecting a pretty dead thread here; but exactly how do you do that? I've opened the package in pacifist, how do I reconfigure everything so those files do not install? Can I drag out/delete the files from the pkg and leave it at that?

How does this tie in with removing AppleIntelCPUManagement.kext which several other threads seem to recommend? Or is this only necessary for updating from 10.5.1 to .2 or .3? Or is it a specific Kalyway issue that does not affect leo4allv3?

So many questions! :(
