Chris G.
I would appreciate any input on this as well. I tried one of the other methods (i believe it was kallyway) this resulted in a boot loop and me needing a reinstall. chris Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114967-how-to-update-from-1052-to-1054-leo4all-v3/#findComment-824076 Share on other sites
kytzu
normally you ca jump from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 straight using 10.5.4 combo update but I didn't try I did 10.5.2 to 10.5.3 using kalyway combo update and 10.5.3 to 10.5.4 using software update (I'm vanilla) and no side effects Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114967-how-to-update-from-1052-to-1054-leo4all-v3/#findComment-824080 Share on other sites
尕roy
use the pacifist to open the "10.5.4 combo update.pkg", and don't select the kernel and the system.kext(from system/extensions/) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114967-how-to-update-from-1052-to-1054-leo4all-v3/#findComment-824348 Share on other sites
Robx86
I am a vanilla kernel and it crashed my machine, my friend did have success with his apple update install. I will follow the Pacifist install mentioned above. CrArC
use the pacifist to open the "10.5.4 combo update.pkg", and don't select the kernel and the system.kext(from system/extensions/) Resurrecting a pretty dead thread here; but exactly how do you do that? I've opened the package in pacifist, how do I reconfigure everything so those files do not install? Can I drag out/delete the files from the pkg and leave it at that? How does this tie in with removing AppleIntelCPUManagement.kext which several other threads seem to recommend? Or is this only necessary for updating from 10.5.1 to .2 or .3? Or is it a specific Kalyway issue that does not affect leo4allv3? So many questions!
