macintoxic
Hi guys ! First of all here the specs of this jurassic Toshiba Satellite laptop (1110-S153 model) : . Processor Mobile Intel Celeron, 1800 MHz (18 x 100) MoBo chipset Intel Brookdale i845MZ System memory 512 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM) Graphic adapter ATI Mobility Radeon (16 MB) Sound adapter Realtek ALC202(A) @ Intel 82801CAM ICH3-M - AC'97 Audio Controller [b-1] IDE controller Intel® 82801CAM Ultra ATA Storage Controller-248A Hard Disk IC25N020ATCS04-0 (20 GB, 4200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100) Ethernet Adapter Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC Wireless Adapter D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G630 Wireless Cardbus Adapter(rev.E) USB controller Intel 82801CAM ICH3-M - USB Controller [b-1] . Some of you can say : "Just forget it, man !" but I'm not going to give up so easily 10.4.6 Jas => Install runs smoothly but during but it hangs on "using 1310 buffer headers and 1310 clkuster IO buffer headers" seems to have ACPI problems (I think !) . 10.4.9 Uphuck => Install runs smoothly but ir hangs on "using 2621 buffer headers and 2621 cluster IO buffer headers" also seems to have ACPI problems (I think ! Again!) . Please, let me hear any tips/tricks/advices from you. I almost forget it. I've already tried Darwin boot option platform=X86PC and the problem remains the same and there's no way to disable ACPI on BIOS setup. Anyone here could explain whythahell I can boot and install both versions (10.4.6 and 10.4.9) so fine and boot fails ? WTF, guys ! That's really frustrating ! P.S.: Sorry for the so loooooooonnnnnnnngggggg post !!! CaroonM80
Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, it's all way beyond me! However, since you're working with a Toshiba I thought I'd let you know about laptopexperts.federatedmedia.net, it's sponsored by Toshiba and there are tech bloggers on there (like Joel Johnson of Boing Boing) who will answer your questions. Good luck! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114937-need-help-with-old-toshiba-satellite-laptop/#findComment-828439 Share on other sites

ergosteur
I never actually got it to boot from any DVD... my drive seemed to be faulty and only booted from CDs. Also, I just sold the laptop last week. Good luck getting it running though! kwhite75
Believe it or not, but I have the same exact laptop and configuration. I checked the CPU-z and it is SSE and SSE2 compatible. Knowing this, I know that Kalyway and Leo4All installs will not work as I have tried this on other desktop SSE2 machines. I tried ToHRC2 install and it ran the install fine but hung up twice at the screen "transfer data from another mac". I wasn't able to get the laptop to ever successfully boot up using OS X 10.5. So then, I loaded Tiger 10.4.6. It loaded perfectly and ran the first time. I am still "tweaking" the install to get the right video kext, sound and wireless working but I ran out of time last night. With it having an ATI video and Realtek sound, those kext files are found here or by using google. I have not been able to get the PCMCI slots working to use PCMCI cards but found the website http://mediafire.com/chunnan today and hopefully may be able to use kext files from there. If not, then I will order a USB wireless adapter http://microcenter.com/single_product_resu...duct_id=0243527 that I know works in 10.4.6 and 10.5 as I have it running on a desktop now using a realtek kext. Yes it is a Jurassic laptop but its one that is very reliable and very durable as I have had it for several years now. Im still a newbie at this but I hope this helps or at least lets you know it can be done on this machine. k Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114937-need-help-with-old-toshiba-satellite-laptop/#findComment-1021101 Share on other sites
macintoxic
Hi KWhite75 ! Well ... based on your experience using 10.4 Tiger on the same exact laptop as mine, could you report what version of Tiger (hacked) you have installed on that old Toshiba ? If you give me that precious information I'll try it soon. Unfortunately any flavors of hacked 10.4 Tiger I've been testing makes the "old reliable Toshiba warrior" installation goes fine, but hangs up during boot. Please, I'm begging here OK ? What version of Hacked 10.4 Tiger do you have installed on your machine ? High Anxiety Mode <on> Again, don't make me give up on my Hackintosh !!! My heart thanks you in advance for your precious help !!! Bye and Happy New Year !!!
