Cool McCool
I am running a Hackintosh OSX v10.5.2 that I installed using Brazilmac scripts and a retail DVD. I modified the installation so it is using Netkas EFI v8 with EFI strings for audio (Azalea) & video (XFX 7600GT). My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P35-DQ6. Has anyone successfully upgraded to 10.5.4 with a similar configuration, and are there any special steps I need to take to upgrade my system? I have heard there were potential AHCI problems with 10.5.3 so I have not upgraded yet. Thanks, Cool McCool Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114757-brazilmac-1054/ Share on other sites
Stravaganza
I used the best method to install OS X which is BrazilMAC, lol. I also use an EFI string to fix my GeForce 7600 GT, ALC 888, and Time Machine. If you have the experence of updating your system to v10.5.2 with netkas's method, you can use the exactly same method for v10.5.4. There is nothing special. Just use the *combo* update DMG. Cool McCool
Well I performed the 10.5.4 combo update to upgrade from 10.5.2 to 10.5.4 and followed netkas instructions, and got the dreaded AHCI error. I had to reboot with my boot CD, go into Terminal & apply the AHCI SATA fix using the kexts found in the AHCISATAFix.zip. This got my hack up & working again & I'm now running 10.5.4 on it.
