I had the HP Omnibook vt6200 laptop sitting around doing nothing since it was replaced by the NC6220.

Ι have tried once to install 10.4.3 from the patched DVD with no luck, since my first try i got more

familiar with the install after a couple of dozen installs on the NC6220 so i decided to give it one

more try and there i go after some minor bios changes i was able to install and succesfull boot 10.4.3

on this king of old laptop... ( 3 years old ).

So in the begging i had the installation DVD waiting after ApplePS2trackpad had succesfully loaded.

This is easily bypassed by disabling "Legacy USB Support" on "System devices" in bios setup, i had to

remove the password security both for the administrator and user (this could also be the case).

After changing the bios setting the install went smoothly to the end but it could not boot after the first

restart, i got stuck with the wallpaper showing in my desktop but with no cursor at all once it crashed

also. What i did and test it twice is i boot it first with : -v -x "mach_kernel.ss2" at the boot loader

went through the welcome screens and finally after that i had my 10.4.3 running.

So my hw status is :

CPU : P4 1.6Mhz - SSE2 no XD

VGA (Ati M6) : Not recognized seen as VGA Compatible Res (1024x768).I havent try any tricks yet though.

Sound : Not Working ( Neomagic ).

DVD/CDRW combo : Working.

LAN : Working seen as RTL8139 but networking settings crashes.

USB: Working.

Trackpad : Working.

Keyboard : Working.

Comparing to my NC6220 , vt6200 is king of slow xbench rates at 11 something and on NC6220 53+

That all i hope this will help someone facing the same probs.
