leachy12
Hi, Sorry that my first post is a moan about something not working. I installed using the ToH rc2, and used a different patch i found on here (Cant remember where exactly, but if you pm me i will have a look inside the files and see if theres any giveaways) more to the point, i have tweaked and tweaked, and right from the offset it hasn't worked. I've been looking at the Panics thrown by the kernel, and discovered that EFI was causing a problem (was installed as part of that patch. (Patch.sh *) was the file name.) so i reinstalled, used that patch without installing EFI. I then can proceed as far as the blue screen (with no mouse visible) or a mouse visible on an external screen, but i've not tried any combinations of startup with external monitors conected. My system Spec's are as follows. ToH on First partition of 160gb HD, (150gb formatted.) - Partition size 30gb. (rest is unformatted space, in which i am going to put windows vista back as i managed to kill my partition table... (Another story)) 1.46ghz dual core.. 1gb Ram. Wifi card, of which im not sure the chipset. Anything else require, just ask me. To come to the point, what do i need to do to pass this blue screen? i have searched around both this forum and google and found nothing that will help me. I have tried deleting APE (Probably not a good idea) in single user mode, and a lot of combinations of startup arguments. Help would be highly appreciated. c_c
Try booting with -v to see what the errors are and post them. You probably have some issues with the graphics drivers - but that's just a guess. Also post your hardware configuration - either in your signature or in the post. It helps if people know what processor you have, the sata controller and chipset at the least. leachy12
Hi, thanks. I attempted to install using the kalyway image. It worked fine first time, everything works oob. The only thing would be that it's getting a bit warm - and the sound out port isnt working. but at least my laptop is working for now. I'll have a look round for the in depth specs on it, as im not too sure off the top of my head at the moment - although i do know it's a gma X3100 according to the HP site. I have not yet tried restarting with it, or sleep. But i will try these in the next half an hour and post my results up. thanks sean (Im posting this from leopard) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114699-compaq-presario-c742ea/#findComment-813158 Share on other sites
