It boots great the first time, but I also get still waiting for root device when I reboot. I really need this fixed badly!!!!! anyone? Please?? seano Posted March 17, 2006 Share Posted March 17, 2006 I have the same issue with an 915GUX mobo. here is a work around I used to install 10.4.4 native on a SATA drive and that was to make sure a PATA drive was present during the installation. Once the system booted to the install screens, I was able to use the disk utility to then see the SATA drive. Once the system installed, boot again from CD allowing it to boot to your working desktop then change the startup disk to your SATA drive. NOW there is the problem. After using the Myzar ISO with 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 patches to "Upgrade" my box to 10.4.5 it totally hosed it. I selected custom install, and unchecked the AMD stuff.... but looks like sse3 is being emulated and several features no longer work. (3Com network card) So, now, when I boot from DVD all i get is "Still waiting for root device" no matter what I boot from, 10.4.3, 10.4.4, or 10.4.4/5 im not 100% sure whats gone {censored} up....
