mlgower
Hi, I have a QS 867 and Want to put a larger (250GB) Drive into it. It will be either SATA or ATA-133. Will any of the PCI SATA cards work or do I need one specifically for the Mac? Thanks!! real_sinjon
They are not all guaranteed to work. I was looking for ages but decided in the end to go for a Sonnet Encore 2 port card. The Sonnet cards are guaranteed compatible. I got one a new one on ebay for £34 and it worked straight out of the box, I have it driving 2 x 500gb SATA drives in a Raid 1 configuration on my G4 Powermac which I use as a back up server. mlgower
Great! Thanks for the info. I was thinking about getting one this weekend and maybe now I'll re-think that. I have a 250GB drive that I use now, but can only see the 1st 128GB. It would be nice to use it all. MacPub
the first models QS have hdd issues, no matter what size hdd it would only see 120gb, your best bet would be to buy a external case. get em off ebay for $10-15 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114216-upgrading-the-hard-drive-on-quicksilver-867/#findComment-825022 Share on other sites
