Hey all,

I would like some info on how to get the dvd player working. I dont even want to watch dvds, instead, "back them up" via fast dvd copy, dvd remaster, or popcorn. I know vlc player kind of lets you watch dvds, but you still cant back up dvds until we get it to work natively/properly, ie the actual apple player. I know it probably has to do with both our display kext (for video performance) and im guessing a kext for the dvd decoder/hardware? I dont care about playback performance, as im not going to be actually watching the movies, so i dont need info on the diplay kext, just the dvd decoder/hardware kext. Please, can anyone shoot me in the right direction for the proper kext to edit for the dvd hardware. Specifically, what kext is it exactly that i should edit, and what hardware device id should i be looking for on my pc? Thanks-- Oh and i have tried and searched for this answer, and all anyone does is use vlc (which is still a crapy fix regardless), but there has to be a final said and done answer to get it working for real.
