frankle
I have previously been using a Kalyway 10.5.2 install with the Tiger MBox2Mini drivers and it was working very well. I just purchased ProTools 7.4.2 so that I could try it out and needed to go upto 10.5.3 so I decided to install the Kalyway 10.5.3 combo updater which worked fine, no issues, and actually fixed my firewire mounting problem. I then updated to 10.5.4 via the software update, and finally installed ProTools 7.4.2 (which included the new "leopard compatable" drivers) whereby my MBox2Mini now gives me distorted sound and fluctuating volume ... any idea what I can do?? I have a backup made by SuperDuper! of my 10.5.2 install, should I just go back to this one and start again with the updating? Any help is appreciated Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113807-mbox2mini-distorted-sound-and-volume-fluctuation/ Share on other sites
frankle
The cure is to use the 9.3.0 Modbin kernel from the Kalyway 10.5.3 combo update ... I just installed it over my 10.5.4 Software Update and it has fixed my problems. About this Mac still reports 10.5.4, I'm not sure where to find the kernal info so not sure where that's now at, I would assume 9.3.0 ... Many thanks to hakeron for his PM's and the following post link that is useful to anyone running 45nm chips and having issues with USB, clock, sound and video: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=112531 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113807-mbox2mini-distorted-sound-and-volume-fluctuation/#findComment-807433 Share on other sites
