Kermy
Hi I've had no problem installing OSx86 on my laptop, and now I'm doing a dual-boot on my desktop. I have a seperate hard drive for x86, which I've wiped using Killdisk before going through the install and creating an HFS partition. Once install is complete and I restart, I've used bootable partitionmagic to go in and set the partition to active, which worked fine on my laptop. On the desktop, I get a "Partition table error #108" message, leaving me unable to do anything but re-partition the drive. Looks like something to do with partition boundaries / cylinders but I'm a but of a novice to really understand it all. Should I just ditch the drive (it is second-hand) and start with a new one or is there anything I can do? Cheers.... Kermy
Ok, have now tried creating an HFS partition from within XP using MacDrive. x86 installer picks up the partition fine, but now Partition Magic reports the drive as unallocated (this is the same if I try HFS+). Is there any other way I can try to set the partition as active? Genesis
Kerny use Diskpart built-in in Windows. But first read the documentation! www.google.com is your friend! In a few stepts to make the partition bootable: 1. select disk [disk number] 2. select partition [partition number] 3. active If u want to make an Apple partition then search with google or read the help from "Start menu">"Run" diskpart , after type "?" then hit enter Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11368-partition-table-error-on-reboot/#findComment-71453 Share on other sites
