sethoramma4
Hi, I am thinking about getting an eMachines W3650 for my birthday, with the purpose of installing Mac OS X Leopard on it. I installed tiger on an old Dell Dimension 8200 and now i love mac. The Dell, however, gets frequent error messages at shutdown and restart, and is rather slow. http://www.emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=W3650 The computer is available at Walmart for $298--without a monitor, and i have one anyway. It comes with XP, but i am planning on upgrading to vista with a disc i have. ANYWAY, i have looked on the HCL lists for 10.5.2 and see that the Celeron 440 would probably work, as the 420 and 430 both do. I have also read that any intel greater than a celeron 420 (except pentium D or something like that) can run vanilla kernel. I know vanilla kernel is the actual Mac kernel, but i am unaware of the other benefits/issues to it, besides upgrades directly from mac, but doesnt that need EFI? Basically, i am asking how should i go about installing leopard on this? I have the following downloaded: Kalway 10.5.2, Leo4all v3 and v2. What Kernels and all would you all suggest. Thanks for any help and insight u can give me.
