katn Posted July 1, 2008 Share Posted July 1, 2008 hello i have read that vostro 1400 is compatible with osx leopard 10.5.2 So i try my install my vostro 1400 config is: 6cells battery T5670 3gb ram wifi with intel broadcom ethernet ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What i done: Installation succed with iATKOS V2 (without any drivers) update to 10.5.3: kalyway combo -> don't work Combo update from apple with toying in terminal method -> don't work Combo update from apple with prasys method (use pacifist soft) -> OK Combo Update by Mysticus v1.4b -> OK update to 10.5.4: Combo update from apple -> freeze at 42% Update from apple with this method http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=113290&view=findpost&p=804394 -> ------> Open Terminal sudo -s *type password* while sleep 1; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext; done Open 10.5.4 Update Installer Run update BUT DO NOT PRESS RESTART Go back to your terminal and press Control C to end the script In terminal type: nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 DONT RESTART Replace the line Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext with dsmos.kext IF ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TERMINALL SCREEN SAYS NEW FILE DONT SAVE IT, that means installer script didn't put anything to install during startup! Now, if you're running hacked kernel, which toh is(ASAIK), DONT RESTART open osx tools, click update kernel, choose a file name to backup ur original kernel, choose the new one click ok, type password and thats all. but: DONT RESTART replace system.kext from the kernel download with the one in your extensions folder. bring back osx tools, check the following: repair permissions set kext permissions, clear extensions cache thanks to : chopperreid and braveskunk ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where I am right now: OSX 10.5.4 specific drivers not installed. katn Posted July 9, 2008 Author Share Posted July 9, 2008 hello finaly i try to install kalyway. my disk is burned at 1X and my sata parameters in bios is AHCI when i install my setup freeze at= "IOAPIC : version 0x21 Vectors 0:23" i try with : cpus=1 -x -v -s but always freeze at this point... but i've read that vostro 1400 is compatible... katn Posted July 10, 2008 Author Share Posted July 10, 2008 updated my install to 10.5.3 with prasys method (using pacifist soft) All run and instrall is OK but when i try to install 10.5.4 combo update from apple it freeze at 42% ad when i reboot it reboot again and again... Anybody can tell me how to update?
