dasvespere
I am looking into an Alienware area 51 m9750 laptop. the graphics processor is a Dual 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8700M GT - SLI Enabled. The cpu is a Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7400 2.16GHz. The memory on it is 1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz – 2 x 512MB. I know that some of this stuff is on the newer powerbooks. since this is Alienware can i run Leopard on it?? Synaesthesia
Is it 2nd hand? If not, I would recommend a laptop such as the Sager NP5793. It has a 2.5ghz Penryn processor, and nVidia 8800M GTX which blows away the 2.16Ghz Core 2 Duo and 8700M GT SLI. It works perfectly in OS X and costs about $2000 for a setup like this with 1920x1200 17" screen. It's customizable though. Otherwise, get a Dell M1730 or Alienware (remember Dell=Alienware!) with similar specs. Don't forget to go to the OSX86 Wiki, there are Hardware Compatibility Lists. I recommend the ones for 10.4.8, 10.5.1 and 10.5.2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113283-im-thinking-of-buying-an-alienware-area-51-m9750/#findComment-804002 Share on other sites
