Right. So, I had a fine and dandy 10.5.2 up and running. I believe it was a JaS installation on this PC. And I thought, you know, why not try out the 10.5.3 update. Add some joy to the wiki and that sort of thing.

 

And of course, I tried the update. The computer still works. OSX still boots. Everything else seems to be going just fine.

 

"About this Mac" crashes the desktop environment every time I try to run it. (Finder bar, and all the rest of finder, dissapear, along with the application launcher across the bottom, only to return a second or two later.)

 

This has never happened to me before and I am somewhat dumbfounded. Now, it may be that I've been searching for inappropriate terms, but 4 hours later, I'm willing to admit my brain might not be functioning at 100% capacity anymore. If it's been answered and someone can post a link, thanks ahead of time.

 

If someone feels like posting the (probably fairly obvious) solution to my dilemma, slight though it may be, again, thanks ahead of time!
