Soldat
I am thinking of making the plunge in the coming days, but I have too many partitions/not enough toom on the HD in my laptop, and I am afraid of screweing up the data. So I was thinking of partitioning off 15-20gb of my external USB backup drive for OSX. Is this fine, or does it have to be an IDE/SATA drive (well, it is obviously an IDE, but in the enclosure which is hooked ot my laptop via usb2). Louis
It's possible. But booting off an external USB2 might not be pratical. I tried with my laptop and for some reason it only works in USB1,....so too slow to be usefull. The same drive mounted internaly boots fine..... nixblicker
I am booting OSX86, Windows XP and Linux from USB 2.0 and have no problems. Also the the drive works with full USB2.0 speed. Problem is I only have a company laptop where I am not allowed to install anything! So I have it all on my external USB-drive!
