ok so i have a ati 2600 pro. i cannot get it to work with the gfx strings method. Every time i try, i get this:DSCN1961.jpg

(the red light is the camera flash, and the tint is off just to show what happens)

any ideas on why this happens?

this also happens when i try to boot without any NATIT (which i use); just OOTB

so can anyone give me some help or a gfx strings crash course for this card

(i dont understand why the packages i downloaded have a .hst and .bst either)

Thanks in advance!!

I cant really help you too much since I dont know how to work with mac yet, but it sounds like your just missing the proper drivers for your vid card.

I know that when you boot with -x it boots without any gfx drivers so obviously no qe since there is no gfx acceleration.

When I said, "Installing" I was referring to the OS . Before the instillation there is a customize option where you can select drivers etc. You might want to try installing a different ATI driver for your vid card. The only way i know how to properly install the gfx driver/kext is by reinstalling OSX and selecting the proper driver in the customize window. Sorry dude I dont know the fancy terminal codes to install kexts yet but im sure someone here does.

ok, but I already have the proper drivers. I installed natit, but I am trying to get it working by way of efi/device strings. So if there was any information that anyone has about getting a radeon 2600 hd pro working with Efi strings, please share it with me. Thanks for your help anyway!
