Dave1554353i Posted June 29, 2008 Share Posted June 29, 2008 i have been able to get everything running smoothly on the mac osx 10.5.2 including the troublesome wireless. But there is one thing that doesn't work and that the 1 thing i need to work, the sound card. It is a Realtek ALC 861 i have tried nearlly every kext there is and ive tried nearlly all Taruga's kexts and the patch for this model also all point to failure, the sound properties have no output devices or input devices. Ive read places where it has started working but after everything ive been though it still doesn't work. Either i'm doing something wrong or something isn't right. Can someone please help me get it up and running because im starting to loose my patience with this sound card because mac just doesn't recognize it after everything that i've done. Dave1554353i Posted June 30, 2008 Author Share Posted June 30, 2008 thanks Nitroboy, but i found out the problem, when i installed leo4all v2 it had an option appleazalia or something like that i installed that but the sound still didnt work but i just got some kext messages saying not installed properly so i found this appleazalia file dragged it to the desktop, opened up Kext Helper b7 dragged the file appleazalia.kext from the desktop into the kext helper, typed in my password in the password box, then clicked easy install, it said everything should be fine fingers crossed and reboot. so i rebooted and i had sound, it must have been how the appleazalia.kext got installed during setup,something must have been wrong but using Kext Helper b7 it installed it and now its working, of course i dont have line in but i dont care about that right now i just wanted the audio working, and i have full use of the volume control on the menu bar, itunes all the volume controls available work so im happy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/113080-i-cant-get-my-realtek-alc861-sound-card-working/#findComment-801273 Share on other sites More sharing options...
