babyblue
Now i've been studying this dual boot guide and i've got it by head on how to dual boot XP and Hack !! Following my thread i started here The dual boot was flawless on my thinkpad but Osx didn't boot, my reason was because it's a thinkpad, i haven't check the compatibility list yet. But anyways i will be doing this (again) on my home pc, but this time on my real hard drive. As seen in the link i post, i got the "boot.plist not found" I've searched for answers on this and results were : bad burn, adding extras in setup, using sata + ide opticals. My rig is a Foxconn Mobo (forgot the model i'll check tonight) with 1.5GB ram and Nvidia 6200 (i know it's old) <-- BUT LEOPARD WORKS (when installed as the only OS on ide ) That means i burnt the dvd ok. Now i am using an IDE optical drive and i will be installing on a Sata hd. I know the dual boot will work but i also know i will run into the BOOT.PLIST error. so how do i avoid this plist thingy !! babyblue
ok so i did the dual boot, i manage to keep my windows XP intact. Now i want to know something, tell me if this is normal. i get to my OS selector screen --> windows XP -->Leopard when i click leopard, it says "press any key to enter startup options" If i don't press anything it fires me back to the OS selector screen. However if i do press a button (to enter startup options). i get : hd(0,1) windows NTFS hd(0,2) Leopard I have to actually select leopard from here for me to boot it. Is this a normal proccess ? why don't i just boot leopard at the main OS selector screen ? cheers **everything is great though** Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/112661-please-advice-before-proceeding/#findComment-804535 Share on other sites

Also using an IDE optical drive. google might do u good, i once saw a Triple boot guide somewhere on the osx86 wiki. as for the boot.plist thingy, it wasn't on my real hard drive, but instead an IDE i was trying on before i installed on my Sata one. Sata works, i just don't know what's the issue with IDE maybe someone else might help on this. however, Tiger works on IDE.... dunno what's up with leopard Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/112661-please-advice-before-proceeding/#findComment-804610 Share on other sites
